Synopsis

Through the Italian National Broadcasting Network, Tezuka Osamu received a fervent request from the Vatican to adapt the Bible into an animated format. This request was likely made to see how the Bible would be portrayed by the non-Christian Tezuka Osamu. Tezuka Osamu accepted the request and dedicated two full years to completing a pilot film. It focused on the story of Noah's ark, with the enthusiastic Tezuka Osamu not only writing the scenario but also drawing the pictures himself. However, during production, he unfortunately passed away, so Director Dezaki took over the film and finished it.
