Synopsis
In "Defenders of Space," the deceitful emperor of the Zinba Empire, Nicholas, plots to seize Earth and transform it into one of his colonies. His first move is to destroy the city of Orion, crippling Earth's defenses. A band of young travelers vacationing on Mars remains unaware of the looming danger until they see the destruction on Earth. They encounter Dr. Han and Fred in a concealed underground facility. Dr. Han believes that the Phoenix King, an immortal bird said to protect Earth, still resides somewhere on the planet, and only this legendary being can defeat Nicholas. The group then sets off for Earth, regarded as humanity's final hope.
Background
Phoenix King is identical to a Diaclone toy No.10 Fire Engine, that later became Inferno of the Transformers. This is the earliest animated version of said toy.
