Artificial Paradise

Synopsis

A disorienting collage of magazine and poster images presents sun-drenched beaches and bikini-clad models, set to a soundtrack that shifts between psychedelic and eerie compositions by Shinpei Kikuchi. Tanaami created positive and negative reproductions of these visuals on transparent cel sheets, layering and distorting them to form a moiré pattern. Tanaami has stated that this vision of paradise is entirely built through the act of reproduction.
