Synopsis
In the year 2046, Noboru Terao and Mikako Nagamine are close friends on the verge of graduating from junior high school. However, following an alien assault on humanity, Mikako is chosen for a UN military space mission aimed at striking back against the aliens. Separated, Noboru and Mikako strive to maintain contact by exchanging emails via their cell phones. But as the expedition travels farther from Earth, the time needed to send and receive each other's messages grows significantly longer. Hoshi no Koe centers on the bond between this pair as they endeavor to remain connected amid the widening gap that separates them.
