Synopsis
Anne Sullivan takes on the role of tutor for Helen Keller, a young girl who is deaf, mute, and blind. Driven by a desire to bring happiness into Helen's life, Anne throws herself entirely into teaching her. Even though her initial attempts don't yield the fast results she had expected, Anne pushes through the many daily obstacles. She continues instructing Helen in Braille, and one summer day, when water is poured into Helen's hand, Helen finally grasps the meaning behind the word "water."
