Synopsis
After his wife passed away, Kouhei Inuzuka has been doing his best to look after his young daughter Tsumugi. But with his lack of cooking skills and his demanding job as a teacher, he ends up depending on convenience store meals to feed the little girl. Frustrated by his inability to give his daughter fresh, nutritious food, Kouhei accepts an invitation from his student, Kotori Iida, to have dinner at her family's restaurant. However, on their first visit, the father and daughter find that the restaurant is often closed because Kotori's mother is away for work, and Kotori usually eats by herself. After his pupil's persistent pleas, Kouhei decides to keep going to the restaurant with Tsumugi to cook and share tasty homemade meals with Kotori. Amaama to Inazuma follows the touching story of a devoted father striving to make his adorable little daughter happy, while exploring the meanings and values of cooking, family, and the warm home-cooked meals that are often taken for granted.
