Synopsis

A boxing ring transforms into a stage for abstract animation, where the punches delivered during the bout and the halftone dots of reprographics gradually blur into one another. Tanaami recorded a boxing match using a Motordrive camera, produced two thousand offset prints, and then rephotographed each individual copy. He attributes his inspiration for the piece to the experience of viewing a boxing match on television, only to discover the following morning that the newspaper print more effectively conveyed the thrill of the sport.
