Synopsis
THE END is an opera born from the joint effort of Keiichirou Shibuya, director and scriptwriter Toshiki Okada, and illustrator YKBX. This work contains no human performers; all the nonexistent singers and orchestras are replaced by arias and recitatives performed by Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid, with the narrative delivered through computer-generated music and visuals. The production reexamines the conventional tragic structure of an opera that questions "What is death?" and "What is an end?" by placing Hatsune Miku as the intermediary for a modern reinterpretation.
