Synopsis
Five years ago, bubbles that defied gravity and held mysterious powers fell upon the earth. Following a massive explosion of unknown cause, Tokyo became the epicenter, with the city sealed inside a gigantic bubble. This "Bubble Fall" phenomenon submerged the former capital in a sea that bent gravity; the government declared it a restricted zone, and its inhabitants fled. Children left orphaned by the Bubble Fall now inhabit Tokyo illegally, engaging in dangerous parkour team battles across the city's crumbling structures. Hibiki—a skilled star in these contests who can leap between bubbles—claims to hear sounds emanating from the Tokyo Tower. Determined to uncover the truth, he heads toward the source but plunges into the waters below. A mysterious girl, whom he later dubs Uta, rescues him. Yet Hibiki has no idea that Uta's arrival in his life will uncover the secrets behind the catastrophic event that transformed their world forever.

Bubble received an early screening at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival on February 10, 2022. The film was released worldwide on Netflix on April 28, 2022, and in Japanese theaters on May 13, 2022.
