Synopsis
An adolescent boy finds himself trapped in a house engulfed in flames alongside his parents. Although he cannot yet consume black coffee, he steadfastly declines his mother’s offer of a sugar lump. Disregarding his father’s worry and spurning his mother’s kindness, he wrestles with internal turmoil while engaging in typical youthful acts of rebellion. In an attempt to catch a girl’s eye, he loses control of a stolen motorcycle and crashes. Following the accident, he discovers a bill that was taken from his mother’s purse has transformed into a sugar lump in his pocket. Instead of reconciling with his family, he brings the sugar lump to his friends, only to be rejected when they toss it aside.
