Synopsis

Drawing from the Japanese folklore idea of Womb Diving (Tainai Kuguri), also known as the "unknown hollow spiritual realm," this narrative examines the two meanings of the word "tainai" in Japanese: referring both to the female womb and to the sacred hollow interior of a Buddhist statue. This cavity acts as a conduit connecting life with the afterlife and death with rebirth. Within this space, the boundaries between living beings and inanimate objects become indistinct, and the notions of interior and exterior are perpetually inverted.
