Shizuku Kanzaki, the only child of famed wine critic Yutaka Kanzaki, endured an unusual upbringing focused entirely on wine. His father trained him in everything from the proper way to decant a bottle to memorizing the scents of leather belts and pencils, which made Shizuku develop a deep hatred for all things wine. Fed up with his father, he left home and became an ordinary sales representative at a beer company, vowing never to touch wine again. After Yutaka suddenly passes away, Shizuku is pulled back into the world he despises. According to the will, whoever can correctly identify the “12 Apostles” of wines and the legendary “Drops of God” will inherit his prized wine collection and estate. Shizuku has one year to complete the challenge, and he finds the task absurd since he is Yutaka’s only living relative. But what Yutaka never revealed to his son before dying was that he had adopted Issei Tomine into the family just one week prior to his death. Issei, a famous veteran wine critic known as “The Prince of Wine,” now competes against Shizuku for the inheritance.
