SAI Corp develops "Giftias"—extremely advanced androids nearly indistinguishable from humans. However, Giftias come with a built-in limit: a maximum lifespan of 81,920 hours, roughly nine years and four months. Tsukasa is assigned to Terminal Service One, the department responsible for retrieving Giftias that have reached their expiration date before they lose their memories and turn dangerous. Shortly after joining Terminal Service One, Tsukasa is paired with a Giftia named Isla. Despite her small stature and calm demeanor, she is a veteran of the service and widely regarded as the best at Giftia retrieval. But time is running out, and Tsukasa must confront his growing feelings for Isla before her remaining hours vanish. No matter how much one wishes it, nothing lasts forever.
