Seeking powerful opponents to further her growth, she travels to Japan with the ambition of becoming an accomplished Mage-Knight. Their paths cross at Hagun Academy, one of Japan's seven Mage-Knight institutions. They quickly discover a shared dream: to earn renown as powerful Mage-Knights through hard work and skill, regardless of their innate talent. To achieve this, they must first face each other in the finals of the Seven Stars Battle Festival—an intense, no-holds-barred tournament gathering the strongest student knights from all seven schools across Japan, where the victor claims the title of Seven Stars King. Will Ikki and Stella be able to stand against even the mightiest Blazers and fulfill their aspirations of reaching the pinnacle of knighthood?

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry was published in English as Chivalry of a Failed Knight by Sol Press from November 16, 2019 to December 28, 2020. Sol Press published only five volumes, they went defunct. The series has been published digitally by J-Novel Club since Feburary 28, 2024.
