The long-running war between mankind and demons has left humanity in a desperate situation. Macha is a powerful alchemist fighting on the front lines, and one day her mother and engineer, Dilia, tells her that she has succeeded in creating a “homunculus” using alchemy. According to Dilia, by having the homunculus fight in battle, they can defeat the demons without further loss of life. While the rest of the team is elated, Macha is troubled by the fact that her role as a warrior is being diminished. What am I going to do if they don't even expect me to fight anymore…
