She treasured books so deeply that she was on the verge of earning a librarian's certificate—a goal she would have achieved if not for an earthquake that toppled her bookshelf and crushed her to death. Though she didn't get the dream job, she was at least granted a second chance at life. Waking up as a frail five-year-old girl named Myne, she finds herself in an unfamiliar medieval city where people have oddly colored hair. This new world captivates Myne, but her weak body and her family's low status and poor living conditions disappoint her. Worse, she discovers that public literacy is nearly nonexistent, and books are both rare and extremely expensive in this place. Even though her previous life ended, her love for books did not—and so begins the story of this bookworm's determination to create her own books.
