Yakusoku no Neverland

At Grace Field House, the orphans enjoy an idyllic life. Though they lack parents, they live alongside other children and a gentle "Mama" who nurtures them, creating a close-knit family. No child is neglected, especially since everyone gets adopted by age twelve. Their daily routine includes rigorous tests, but they are allowed outdoor play afterward. There is just one rule they must follow: never leave the orphanage. But one day, two top-scoring children, Emma and Norman, step beyond the gate and uncover the horrifying truth behind their existence. Relying on their sharp wits, the kids must work together to change their predetermined fate.

Yakusoku no Neverland ranked first in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Male Readers division. It won the 63rd Shougakukan Manga Award in the Shounen category. In 2017, the manga was nominated for the 11th Manga Taisho Award and placed 11th in the final ranking. As a part of the JUMP START initiative, the first three chapters of the series were published in English as The Promised Neverland in VIZ Media's digital Weekly Shonen Jump on the same day as the Japanese release. After, the series was added to VIZ Media's Weekly Shonen Jump lineup and it was simulpub through MANGA Plus. The volumes were published by VIZ Media from December 5, 2017, to August 3, 2021. The series was also released in Polish by Waneko; in Spanish by Norma Editorial; in Portuguese by Devir; in Brazilian Portuguese by Panini Comics; and in Czech by Crew.
