Moon Bin Lee, a high school student, struggles with insomnia because of a recurring nightmare where he is thrown over a thousand years into the past, chasing a dark-haired girl into a deep abyss. Before long, the dream takes over his waking life, and he can no longer tell if he is Moon Bin—a Seoul teenager at the end of the second millennium—or Sa Kyoung Kim, the son of a famous warrior family living in the middle of the first millennium. People from his present-day existence take on roles in his historical life as he fights to discover his true identity and purpose, caught between a portal that allows him to travel across time and space. In the present, his school's kendo club battles to remain in the championships, while in the past, Moon Bin finds himself at the edge of a territorial conflict on the plains of Mongolia.
