Yuuko Iijima is a timid sixteen-year-old high school student who finds it hard to form connections with her peers, relying solely on her dog, Pochi, for companionship. One day, while walking Pochi, she encounters Yamada, the most popular and attractive boy in her class, who is adored by all the girls. Yamada invites her to his concert at the summer festival, which Yuuko accepts with enthusiasm, oblivious to his ulterior motives. At the festival, Yuuko witnesses the harsh reality of human cruelty firsthand and makes a dire wish under the starlit summer sky. In parallel, Pochi, wishing to be human, dreams of being able to tell Yuuko that she is not alone. Additional one-shot included: Volume 4: Gomibako wo Kettobase.
