Dorabase is set in 22nd-century Tokyo. The main character is Kuroemon, a cat robot of the same make as Doraemon, who acts as both captain and manager for the Edogawa Doras baseball team. The manga revolves around the Edogawa Doras' adventures as they encounter countless rivals and evolve from a squad unable to win a single match into a top-tier amateur baseball team. Baseball rules in this future era stay mostly the same, with one key difference: three designated secret gadgets from the main Doraemon series can be used per game.
