Toshokan Sensou: Love & War

Toward the end of the Showa era, the Media Betterment Act was passed, triggering a nationwide purge of any media considered objectionable. Seeing this unreasonable censorship, libraries rose in opposition; the Library Defense Force (LDF) became the sole organization capable of resisting the Media Betterment Committee (MBC). Avid reader and somewhat boyish Iku Kasahara becomes the newest recruit accepted into the Kanto branch of the LDF. Her passion for books motivated her to join the force for more than one reason: five years earlier, she nearly got into trouble with the MBC until an unknown LDF agent saved her. Ever since, Iku has sworn to protect books just like that agent did, and at only twenty-two, she has already become a rising star among the new recruits. Even though Iku has realized her goal of joining the LDF, she often butts heads with her straight-laced instructor Atsushi Doujou, who seems especially strict with her. Thus, Iku is shocked to learn that Doujou, along with others, endorses her for inclusion in the Library Task Forces (LTF). Now part of an elite unit, Iku must prove her worth as an LTF member while carrying out her duties with diligence.
