Fourteen years ago, mysterious structures known as Dungeons began appearing across the world. These labyrinths are ruled by powerful beings called djinn, and anyone who successfully conquers a Dungeon earns the djinn's immense power in the form of a Metal Vessel, marking them as a worthy king candidate. Adventurers from various empires and kingdoms brave the Dungeons in search of treasure and the djinn's strength, but navigating them is perilous—only Magi, legendary magicians who select kings and nurture nations, can guide people through. After spending most of his life trapped in a single room, the young Magi Aladdin finally embarks on a journey to see the world, accompanied by his friend Ugo, a djinn he can summon from his flute. Through a series of fateful encounters, Aladdin meets many new friends and allies, and together they begin an adventure destined to reshape the fate of the world.

Magi won the 59th Shogakukan Manga Award in the Shounen category in 2013. The series was published in English as Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic by VIZ Media under the Shonen Sunday imprint from August 13, 2013, to August 13, 2019. It was also released in Italian by Edizioni Star Comics from September 17, 2011, to August 14, 2018; in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC from July 2014 to December 2018; in Polish by Waneko from November 3, 2016, to May 11, 2021; and in Spanish by Planeta Cómic from January 31, 2020, to January 27, 2021.
