This lengthy, epic manga covers three generations of the Etou family. The initial storyline follows Ranze, a fairly ordinary high school girl—except that her father is a vampire, her mother is a werewolf, and she possesses her own magical abilities. Her family was exiled from the Magic World to dwell among humans, and they now protect the gateway connecting the two realms. The story truly kicks off when Ranze falls for a human boy, a relationship her parents strictly prohibit. Later story arcs shift focus to Ranze's brother and then to Ranze's daughter.
