In a fantasy world, witches can cast curses that are nearly impossible to break except through a few means: receiving a loving kiss from a prince, hoping the angry witch changes her mind, or trying a third option. Guideau and Ashaf form an unusual pair working for the Order of Magical Resonance, an organization that handles all magic-related cases. Guideau, a young woman with beast-like eyes and a tendency to charge into situations headfirst, holds a deep personal vendetta against witches. Ashaf, a refined yet mysterious man who carries a coffin on his back, keeps his partner in check with his calm demeanor and level-headedness. Together, they investigate magical mysteries and crimes while searching for the witch who cursed Guideau. The duo arrives in a city where they have heard a witch lives; however, to their surprise, the townspeople regard this witch as a hero who protects them. Both Guideau and Ashaf believe that only trouble follows wherever a witch goes—but that remains to be seen in this case. Included one-shot: Volume 6: Majo no Kimagure (Witch and Whim)

Background

Majo to Yajuu went on a two-month hiatus starting on January 22, 2023, due to the author's poor health. The hiatus was extended indefinitely after an official announcement on March 22, 2023. The series has been published in English as The Witch and the Beast by Kodansha USA since October 27, 2020. It has also been published in Italian by Panini Comics since February 16, 2023.
