An adaption of Boris Vian's surrealist novel <i>L'Écume des jours.</i><br> A rich young man, Colin, met the woman of his dreams, Chloe, at a birthday party for a friend's dog. Colin announced his engagement in front of his best friends Chick and Alyssum, who are unable to marry due to Chick devoting his entire fortune to buying anything relating to the philosopher Paltre. However, as Colin's fortune dwindles Chloe is diagnosed with having a water lily growing in her lungs, and becomes bedridden. <br><br>
