Halna Midi Meren is a character who first appeared in Magical Girl Raising Project Black. She is a mage and overseer of the Umemizaki magical-girl school project. Although she doesn't actually possess such a rank, the school's students call her "Principal Halna." Halna is described by Calkoro to have an incredibly striking appearance. Her traits are mage-like, with pointed ears and heterochromatic eyes, but also with a certain softness to her features that creates a perfect balance. She is also described her as having hair pulled back into a tight bun and as wearing glasses. Though she wears mage robes in her first appearance, she also changes into less restrictive clothes that are more comfortable when she needs to, such as business clothes. Beneath her cold exterior, Halna actually has a strong sense of responsibility and harbors many regrets over what she perceives to be her own personal failures. Halna considers her current position to be a chance to guide future magical girls onto the right path, which is the cause her strictness.
