Born in Dallas, Texas, Jensen Ackles initially intended to pursue a degree in sports medicine at Texas Tech University with the goal of becoming a physical therapist. However, he ultimately relocated to Los Angeles to launch his career in acting. He is best recognized for his television performances as Eric Brady in Days of our Lives, a role that garnered multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations, as well as his portrayals of Alec/X5-494 in Dark Angel and Jason Teague in Smallville. Ackles currently headlines the CW series Supernatural as Dean Winchester. He is married to Danneel Ackles.
