Born on December 28, 1968, Akihiko Hoshide is a Japanese engineer and JAXA astronaut. On August 30, 2012, he made history as the third Japanese astronaut to conduct a spacewalk. While aboard the ISS, Hoshide achieved a unique milestone by recording the first voice acting performance ever done in space. This recording was featured as a cameo appearance in the 31st episode of the anime series Space Brothers, which was broadcast on November 4, 2012.
