Personal Information

Born in Gunma, Japan, Ayaka Wada is a Japanese pop singer under the Hello! Project umbrella, known by the nicknames DAWA and Ayacho. She entered the project in June 2004 after passing auditions alongside thirty-two other candidates to join Hello! Pro Egg. This group was designed to prepare young talents for the entertainment industry, providing Wada with free vocal and dance training. During her development, she performed as a backing dancer at various Hello! Project concerts, including the Country Musume Live 2006: Shibuya des Date. In September 2007, Wada began appearing on the television program Chao.TV, and later that year in November, she secured a role in the musical Reverse! Watashi no karada doko desu ka?. She was subsequently chosen as one of four members for a new Hello! Pro Egg unit called Shugo Chara Egg!, formed alongside Maeda Yuuka, Fukuda Kanon, and Saho Akari. The unit was established to record opening themes for the anime Shugo Chara!, for which Buono! also provided songs, and has released three singles. In 2009, Wada was selected as a founding member of the new Hello! Pro Egg unit S/mileage, joining Maeda Yuuka, Kanon Fukuda, and Ogawa Saki. To dedicate herself to this new group, she departed from Shugo Chara Egg! at that time. Additionally, as of July 2009, she was assigned to the unit ZYX-α.
