Hailee Steinfeld is an American actress and singer who achieved her breakthrough with the 2010 western drama True Grit. Her performance in the film garnered nominations for the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, and SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently rose to mainstream prominence through lead roles in Ender's Game, Romeo & Juliet, and Begin Again, all released in 2013, as well as 3 Days to Kill in 2014. Steinfeld received critical acclaim for her work in the Pitch Perfect film series from 2015 to 2017 and the 2016 coming-of-age comedy-drama The Edge of Seventeen, the latter earning her nominations for both a Golden Globe Award and a Critics' Choice Movie Award. In animation, she provided the voice of Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and voices Vi in the Netflix animated series Arcane (2021–present), which is based on the League of Legends video game franchise. Her live-action credits include starring as Charlie Watson in the Transformers film Bumblebee (2018) and portraying Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ comedy-drama series Dickinson (2019–2021). Additionally, she appeared as Kate Bishop / Hawkeye in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
