Details regarding Simona Berman's early life remain scarce, aside from the fact that she entered the voice acting profession as an adult. Her career began with the Pokémon anime franchise, specifically during the Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon arc. In this series, she provided the voice for Mimo, the younger sister of Kiawe, as well as the Charjabug species, most notably voicing Sophocles's Charjabug.
