Fang Yu, born in 1953 in Xi'an, People's Republic of China, is a German actor, radio play speaker, voice actor, and director of Chinese descent. He received his early education in China until the onset of the Cultural Revolution in 1966. After arriving in Germany in 1984, he pursued studies in German and Sinology at the Second Foreign Languages University in Beijing. From September 1985 through February 1990, he studied acting and theater as a guest student at the Berlin University of the Arts. Fang Yu currently resides in Berlin.
