Following his studies in Japanese art at Aichi Art College, Hoshino Yukinobu launched his professional career as a manga creator with the 1975 publication of "Steel Queen" in Weekly Shonen Jump Extra. That same year, he was honored with the Tezuka Award for best young comic creator for his work "Morning Faraway." This achievement rapidly cemented his reputation as the most promising mangaka specializing in hard science fiction.
