Constantino Romero García (29 May 1947 – 12 May 2013) was a Spanish television and radio host as well as an actor. Renowned for his deep voice, he became widely recognized for dubbing prominent figures such as Clint Eastwood, James Earl Jones in the role of Darth Vader, and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator films. Born in Albacete, he was raised in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón, where his mother resided, and his family hailed from Chinchilla and Almansa. His professional journey commenced as an announcer for Radio Barcelona and RNE. In 1985, he made his television debut hosting the program Ya sé que tienes novio. Between 1987 and 1992, he presented the game show El tiempo es oro on TVE before moving to Antena 3, where he achieved significant popularity. He later appeared on regional television channels hosting La Silla and took over the hosting duties for Pasapalabra on Antena 3 from Silvia Jato when she became a mother. From 2002 to 2010, he worked at CMT. Romero made his stage debut in 1984 in L'Ópera de tres rals, directed by Mario Gas. The two collaborated again on the musicals Sweeney Todd in 1995 and A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim. Additionally, he appeared in The Little Shop of Horrors, providing the voice for the carnivorous plant. His career accolades included an Antena de Oro Award in 1999 and two TP de Oro awards. He retired on 12 December 2012 following his final voice acting role in Trouble with the Curve. Romero announced his retirement via Twitter, stating, "Thanks for the affection. It's been 47 years of work. And a whole life. Radio, TV, theatre, dubbing. It's been worth it. A hug. That's all folks!" He expressed gratitude to his fans by noting that he had always known the best part of his job was the people. He passed away in Barcelona on 12 May 2013 at the age of 65.
