Brian Tee, born Jae-Beom Takata, is an American actor originally from Okinawa, Japan. He moved to California with his family at the age of two and later attended the University of California before launching his television career. Tee made his on-screen debut in 2000 with a minor role on the series The Pretender. He subsequently appeared in Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, and secured a recurring part on Zoey 101. From 2015 through 2022, he played Dr. Ethan Choi across the first eight seasons of the NBC medical drama Chicago Med. In the film sector, Tee was cast as the antagonist D.K. (Drift King) in the 2006 action movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. His later film credits include The Wolverine (2013), Jurassic World (2015), and No Tears for the Dead (2014). He also portrayed Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016). Additionally, Tee brought the character Liu Kang to life in the 2013 web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy and played Xavier Quinn/Julius McCabe in season 3 of the Amazon original Reacher.
