Personal Information

Rick Gomez was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, as the eldest son in his family on the same day his father, Rick Sr., was born. In 1987, his family relocated to South Plainfield, New Jersey, where he completed his schooling. After graduating from South Plainfield High School, Gomez moved to New York City to begin his acting career. Following a minor part in the feature film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he secured the recurring role of "Endless Mike," a melodramatic and quietly unhinged high school student, in the surreal children's series The Adventures of Pete and Pete, which was filmed in New Jersey. Series creators Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi specifically praised his highly original performance in the DVD audio commentary for the show. Gomez subsequently appeared in numerous small roles across various television series, telefilms, and feature films. He also co-wrote and starred in the documentary-style feature, or possibly dramatized documentary, Last Man Running (unreleased; made 2003), alongside director Damon Santostefano. The project featured his wife Jenifer Wymore-Gomez, brother Joshua Gomez, and other New York City film professionals playing themselves, and it was screened at the Phoenix Film Festival among other venues. Previously, Gomez served as executive producer on A Waiter Tomorrow (1998), a film directed and co-written by Korean-American filmmaker Michael Kang, who also appears as himself in Last Man Running. As an established voice actor, Gomez's credits include roles in the video game Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, the character Gippal in the English dub of Final Fantasy X-2, and the character Zack in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. He also provided the voice for a pilot in a minor role in The Animatrix. More recently, he made a cameo appearance in Transformers as a Sheriff attempting to apprehend the protagonist. Gomez and his wife have two sons.
