Ai Takahashi is a Japanese pop singer affiliated with Hello! Project. She is best recognized for her tenure as the former leader of Morning Musume and as a member of its well-known subgroup, Minimoni. Takahashi became part of Morning Musume in 2001 following the fifth generation auditions. By 2009, she had assumed the role of leader for Hello! Project. On September 30, 2011, she transferred leadership of both Morning Musume and Hello! Project to Niigaki Risa. As of 2009, she held the distinction of being the longest-serving Leader in the group's history. She eventually graduated from Morning Musume and Hello! Project to pursue her aspirations as an actress.
