Personal Information
Born in Oak Park, Illinois, Keith Szarabajka is the son of Anne, a school teacher, and Edward Szarabajka, a savings and loan officer. He pursued his higher education at the University of Chicago and Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Between 1972 and 1978, he furthered his acting studies at the Organic Theater in Chicago. His surname, which translates to "gray fable" in Polish and is pronounced [ʂaraˈbajka], became part of his professional identity. In 1982, Szarabajka secured a supporting role in the Costa-Gavras film Missing.
