Personal Information

Ryouichi Ikegami commenced his career as a mangaka at the age of seventeen by drawing his first comic series. Demonstrating exceptional talent early on, his initial two collaborative projects achieved immediate popularity and established a trajectory for one of the industry's most significant success stories. These works included "AIUEO Boy," created with Kazuo Koike in 1973, and "Gallant Gang" ("Otoko Gumi"), produced with Tetsu Kariya in 1974. While Ikegami previously wrote and illustrated many of his earlier titles solo, he now works almost exclusively with collaborators and continues his prolific output without sign of slowing down.
