Personal Information
Born in Tokyo on April 22, 1965, Hase Arihiro was a seiyuu and the son of fellow voice actor Hase Sanji. He is best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Ichijyo Hikaru in the Macross franchise. Hase passed away by suicide on July 30, 1996, at the age of 31, after jumping from his seventh-story apartment window. His death came shortly after he had recorded a session for the Macross World Radio Show. Throughout the years following the series, he maintained a close friendship with co-star and pop singer Iijima Mari, regularly attending her concerts until the end of his life. In 2005, Iijima returned to the role of Lynn Minmay for the ADV Films English dub of Macross, stating in interviews that she dedicated this new release to his memory. During his professional career, Hase was affiliated with Sigma Club and Production MThree. Outside of his acting work, he enjoyed swimming and tap dance.
