One morning, Sankichi Nakamura shows up late for school only to find someone already sitting in his seat who looks exactly like him. He tries to convince the teacher that the boy is an impostor, but fails and is sent home. When he gets there, the same impostor is already with his mother, pretending to be Sankichi. Soon it becomes clear that the impostor is actually Plastic Boy—an alien fugitive from the law who can stretch and twist his body into any form he chooses. His goal is to hide out in Sankichi's house by completely taking the boy's place. This short story was first published in 1959 in the fourth issue of "Tetsujin Comics," coming shortly after the much longer serial "Plastic Man" from a year earlier. Now difficult to find, it was written by Mizuki Shigeru under the pen name Azuma Shinichiro.
