Ojisama to Neko ranked fifth in the 2019 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Female Readers division. The series has been published in English as A Man & His Cat by Square Enix Manga since February 11, 2020. It has also been released in Polish by Waneko since September 20, 2021. The manga was adapted into a Japanese live-action TV series that aired from January 7, 2021, to March 25, 2021. The cats in the show were portrayed with puppets.
