Souta Inui is timid by nature and has an unusual condition: whenever certain conditions are met, he transforms into a dog. His childhood friend Ryo Kurose, who was always there to defend Souta from bullies, undergoes a similar change into a cat under the same circumstances. The two were forced apart in their youth due to family reasons, only to cross paths again years later. When Souta confesses that he has always loved Ryo, Ryo doesn't believe him in the slightest. Souta insists that this time it's his turn to look after Ryo, yet in the end he finds himself rescued once more. While everyone adores him in his dog form, what Souta truly wants is for Ryo to accept him as a human as well.
