Tsubomi Hanasaki, a middle school student in her second year with a deep love for flowers and plants, has a dream about a mysterious flowering tree that is withering, causing nearby sprites to vanish. When she transfers to Myodou Academy, she encounters those same sprites, who plead with her to become a Pretty Cure to protect the Great Tree. At first, she refuses their request, but she is forced to accept when an unexpected attack by an unknown enemy steals the Heart Seed of her new classmate, Erika Kurumi. To save Erika's heart, Tsubomi transforms into a Pretty Cure and joins the fight.
