The narrative follows the hidden treasure of Nanana, a former NEET girl who died and became a ghost. After being cut off by his father, Juugo transfers to a high school located on the man-made "Special Student Zone" island. Scraping by on 40,000 yen a month, he rents a cheap apartment that is haunted by Nanana's spirit. Along with other members of the school's adventure club, Juugo takes part in a "treasure hunt royale" across the island, competing for the Nanana Collection—a group of items imbued with mysterious powers.
