In the year 2307 AD, fossil fuels have run out, but humanity has found a new energy source: a massive solar power system built around three enormous space elevators. However, only a handful of global superpowers and their partners gain access to this technology. Each of the three space elevators is controlled by a major power bloc: the Union, led by the United States; the Human Reform League, headed by China, Russia, and India; and the AEU, steered by Europe. These factions constantly vie for dominance and prosperity. Amid this endless conflict, a secret military organization emerges with the goal of ending all war through armed force. Called Celestial Being, this group operates "Gundam" mobile suits and launches armed interventions to stop every act of warfare.
