Kaisei feels out of place at his city high school, spending his days in isolation. Following his mother's suggestion, he heads to the countryside to spend the summer at his grandmother's house. While there, he encounters Akira, a mysterious regular at the traditional candy shop "Makemake" that his grandmother runs—who claims to be an alien.
