Rui Kijima is a manga artist known for her plain appearance, and she has no desire for romantic relationships. Even though her editor believes that falling in love would improve her storytelling, Rui wants to devote herself entirely to her work. Her life is thrown into chaos when romance appears in an unexpected form. Keigo Azuma runs a loan business, and Rui discovers she is the guarantor for a friend who skipped town, leaving behind an unpaid debt of sixty thousand dollars. With no way to cover that huge sum immediately, Rui agrees to repay the full amount in the near future. But in exchange for extending the deadline, Keigo insists on immediate payment—in a form that involves Rui herself.
