Yukito Kunisaki, a wandering traveler crossing Japan, is in pursuit of the enigmatic "girl in the sky." His travels bring him to a peaceful seaside village where he meets Misuzu Kamio, an unusual girl plagued by dreams of soaring through the heavens. As Yukito remains in the town, he builds relationships with its distinctive residents and gradually unravels secrets about Misuzu and her close-knit community.
