Umi ga Hashiru End Roll
Umiko Chino, a 65-year-old widow with no particular hobbies, decides to go to the cinema after her VCR malfunctions. Her trip brings back memories of her first date with her late husband. However, instead of focusing on the movie, she ends up watching the audience, particularly a young individual. As the credits roll, this person, who introduces himself as Kai Hamauchi, a college student studying film, comes over to speak with Umiko. She requests his help in fixing her VCR, which Kai accepts. Before departing, Kai asks Umiko if she'd be interested in making a film together, a question that sets her life on a new course.
